Someone from that team will contact you and help you get your feet wet. If you're ready to dive in, we'll gladly sign you up for the team! If it's not a great fit, we'll help you keep trying other areas until you've found the spot you're excited about!
CAMPUS SUPPORT AND RESOURCES
Are you an "aesthetics" person? Does keeping things looking � and running � like new give you a sense of joy and accomplishment? These teams make Living Water Christian Church consistently inviting, so our leaders and guests can focus on the reasons they�re here.
FACILITY CARE
Join a cleaning team for a weekend or two (we clean and vacuum the building and empty trash), or offer your services to make a "sweep" after a service to pick up stray papers and cups and empty trash in the restrooms.
FACILITY MAINTENANCE
This is the "behind the scenes" crew, using their talents and skills to make this place look gooood. Got handy skills? We can find a project for you!
GROUNDS AND GARDENS
Help with planting and landscape care, and organizing and serving during special work projects.
MOWING
Offer to help one of our mow teams - organized on a rotation to mow Spring through Autumn.
CHILDREN
Are you up for the excitement - and the challenges - of helping children discover they matter to God? (Or maybe you're just a kid at heart - and you know you'll have fun playing and learning with the kids too!)
INFANT NURSERY
Love babies (birth through walkers)? Interact, cuddle, feed, rock to sleep, and most importantly - help give parents a worry-free worship experience.
TODDLER NURSERY
Help our teachers prepare snacks, do simple crafts, read, hug, teach, sing and play.
PRESCHOOL CLASS
Help our teachers, play, read, do crowd control and lots of hugging as you build a foundation through stories, crafts and lessons.
ELEMENTARY CLASSES
Wow ... what an honor - God could use you to help the teachers work with eager learners and foster a love and knowledge about Jesus.
WON BY ONE YOUTH EVENTS
Are you a fun adult that likes to have a good time? Want to go to concerts, go bowling, take kids to camp, or eat pizza? Offer your skills ... join the revolution!
YOUTH SUNDAY SCHOOL
Come steer the future of our church, country and world. These kids are making decisions that could affect our future!
LIBRARY
Do you love books? Do you like to keep things organized? Lend your skills to our library ... and promote them to the church body.
FOOD
Man, we like to eat. We like to eat together. There's just something about sharing a meal with someone to help you open up and get to know them a little bit better.
Do you like to cook? Help supply a meal or a dish. We organize church meals for special events and provide meals to people who have experienced a birth, illness or death.
CREATIVE & TECHNICAL ARTS
Do you have hidden (or obvious) talents in media production? Or a burning desire to help the church use the latest technology to reach this community? Whether your strengths and skills are more technical or conceptual, we have a place for you.
EQUIPMENT OPERATORS
Run sound and video systems for Sunday services and special events.
TECHNICAL SUPPORT
Create text for worship and artist solos, conduct online research for media content.
IT SUPPORT
Help make sure our worship computer operates to its full potential.
PHOTOGRAPHY AND MEDIA PRODUCTION
Use your skills to shoot video and photos - the raw materials - or put your knowledge and equipment to work to come up with great productions and/or publications.
PERFORMING ARTS
Our Sunday vocalists, instrumentalists and dramatic artists are volunteers - just like you. We have many artistic opportunities for those who are just getting started.
INSTRUMENTALISTS
Perform a wide variety of musical styles during Sunday services. Band typically includes drums, bass guitar, electric guitar, and keyboard - but just about any instrument played well could have a place on our stage. Band members practice Thursdays from 6:30 - 9:00 p.m. and perform on Sundays from 7:45 - 11:30 a.m.
DRAMA
Perform in dramas, direct actors, assist with costuming, props, and staging, adapt existing scripts. Drama rehearsals are held on a selected weeknight when a drama is scheduled for the following weekend; actors must be available for all services.
VOCALISTS
Perform solos for Sunday services. Vocalists rehearse on Thursdays from 6:30 - 9:00 p.m. and perform on Sundays from 7:45 - 11:30 a.m.
GUEST SERVICES & HOSPITALITY
Do you believe that first impressions can make a huge impact? That creating an accepting, inviting - and safe - environment is a must? So do we.
WELCOME DESK
Be the smiling face our guests come to when they need information. Be ready to answer any question!
FIRST FOODS
Can you make a great cup of coffee? Like purchasing and serving delicious breakfast pastries? Provide service with a smile and show our guests - and members too - how much they matter to us - and to God.
TRAFFIC
Direct traffic flow and assist our guests with parking.
USHERS/GREETERS
Greet guests, provide programs, assist with seating, and help our guests find their way around the campus to classes, restrooms, and nurseries.
BULLETIN ASSEMBLY
Collate Sunday service programs.
MEDICAL RESPONSE
"Did someone call for a doctor?" Well, it probably isn't that dramatic, but if you know CPR, or are a professional, let us know, and we'll know to call on you ... if your valuable skills are ever needed.
MISSION OUTREACH
A multitude of opportunities exist on teams that serve our community and the world beyond. Whatever your gifts, they'll be more than welcome in these vital ministry areas.
LOCAL
CHILI COOKOFF
The most fun you'll have all year! We participate every spring in the annual Virginia Championship Chili Cook-Off in downtown Roanoke. We cook, we serve, we set up, we blow up balloons, we meet people, and yes, we have a diaper changing station.
DIAPER CHANGING STATIONS
We go into the valley by contacting area festivals and offering our services. We provide a changing table, diapers, wipes & sanitizer free of charge to parents in need! We show the community that Living Water believes their family is PRICELESS to God and to us.
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY PROJECTS
Help build homes for people who need an affordable, quality place to live. We also do projects at the Habitat offices.
REGIONAL
CHRIST�S CHURCH @ VIRGINIA TECH
Help this outreach ministry to the students of Virginia Tech, originally founded by our very own Leland Duncan! We can help with their facilities and provide other assistance as needed.
MOUNTAIN MISSION SCHOOL
Participate in a work trip! Collect Christmas presents! Just go visit this fantastic ministry that provides a home, food and quality education to kids in need.
